I am a trained and experienced performer/theatre maker and arts facilitator as well as a prize- winning writer. Over the last twenty years I have been creating performances, publishing works, both fiction and non fiction, developing excellent communication skills as well as experience in community engagement and program design and delivery.

Arts Health Institute (2014-2017), Arts Facilitator/Creative Engagement Specialist

  • Developed and delivered ‘Wordpower’, an engagement program for elders in residential care that focuses on enjoyment and use of language, story and literacy.

  • Delivered ‘Play Up’, a program designed for residents living with dementia, to help reduce isolation, agitation and promote positive moods and social engagement.

  • Liaised with care staff, used facility software to record result and write reports,

    communicated via phone and email with AHI staff and peers.

  • Represented AHI at conferences as a public speaker and delivered conference workshops.

    Completed and published debut novel, Bridget Crack (2017), Allen and Unwin.

    • Undertook extensive historical research using primary archive material (newspapers, police reports, diaries, court records, convict records) and secondary material (2009- 2015).

    • Supplied edited 76,000 word manuscript to publisher and mentor to meet deadlines.

    • Wrote, devised and developed a one-woman theatre show.

    • As producer and performer, toured a solo show to over 100 regional Australian venues in

      conjunction with Regional Arts Victoria and Country Arts WA.

    • Solved logistic problems to enable the show to be performed in a variety of venues.

    • Created rehearsal schedules, organised hire of equipment and transport, sourced props.

    • Worked in collaboration with a director.

    • Organised and delivered community engagement activities in communities, including

      schools.

    • Worked as a team with regional arts staff and with a touring technician and tour manager

      to produce successful events.

    • Used software to create budgets, write scripts and create and edit soundtracks.

    • Communicated with touring team, volunteers, arts centre staff and regional arts staff.

    • Wrote and submitted grant applications.
